Confederations Cup 2013 - Brazil vs Uruguay

Brazil claimed a spot in the final of the Confederations Cup 2013 with a victory from Uruguay. The team will face either Spain or Italy in Sunday's final.

Before the game Uruguay was seen as an underdog. The team isn't as full of talent, and their performances in the tournament have not been great. Surprisingly, however, they really put up a good fight. They did use their usual tricks diving, whining and tackling, but also managed to score a goal and really tested the Brazilians.

On the 15th minute a penalty was awarded for Uruguay. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar, however, pushed his shot behind the post. 0-0.

The first goal came in the end of the first half. The goal itself wasn't particularly spectacular, but the situation that led to it was something to see. First Paulinho passed the ball to Neymar from around midfield-line, who then passed it on to Fred, who scored the goal.

After only three minutes of the second half Edinson Cavani tied the game.

For a long time after Uruguay's equalizer extra time seemed like a likely follow-up. On the 86th minute, however, Paulinho scored a nice header that secured the host nation's spot in the finals.
