After Victor Valdes announced that he wouldn't renew his contract with FC Barcelona there has been constant speculation about who would replace him. Goalkeepers like Pepe Reina, David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois have all been linked with a transfer to Camp Nou. This week, however, a new and very interesting young talent Marc-Andre ter Stegen has become the center of goalkeeper speculation.
Ter Stegen is a 20-year-old German talent, who despite his young age is the number one goalkeeper in his current team Borussia Mönchengladbach. Ter Stegen has often been compared to the legendary Oliver Kahn and credited for his mental strength even in the trickiest situations. And really what more can you expect from a 20-year-old goalkeeper?
